Portrait Photography Studio

Individualized sessions include pre-session consultation

Sessions usually last 1-2 hours, more than double the time of most studios. I offer a consultation before each session, at no extra charge, where we meet either in the studio or in your home to discuss ideas, locations and clothing. The consultations are individual to each client’s needs and concerns. Together we will conceptualize and design your individual session to ensure that everyone is relaxed, inspired and ready for the shoot.

Fewer sessions booked means I take the time to get yours just right

Family sessions start at $150 and can take place in the studio, in your home or on location. At Sapphire Studio you always get a unique, customized shoot and always the same caliber of photographer because you always get me, Elaine Lowry. My pricing reflects the quality of my work and the importance of building a relationship with my clients. I will never rush you in and out of the door because I don’t book clients back to back. I limit the number of my shoots per week so I can give you the attention that I want to provide and that most people seek. I take the time to get to know you and to discuss color, clothing, and furniture arrangement, all of which help to showcase your unique style. Planning always pays off in the final portraits. When everyone is ready, excited, comfortable and relaxed, the final photos reflect it.

Attention to detail, from photo session through final selection

My family session prices include custom, hand editing followed by a personal slide show in my studio. Additionally, once your first order is placed, an online gallery will be posted for one month to help you and family members make further choices. Prints, wall portraits and coffee table books are not included in the session fee.

We all know that there is something special about a mother/daughter connection. No exception here with Karen and Nora. Their love – intense, evident, and pure. What a pleasure to work with them.

What can I say about Avery? She is an angel. She is sweet, kind, polite, and wonderfully loving. She won my heart. I would do a photoshoot with her any ol’ day.

There is nothing like watching an older child, in this case a big sister, care and watch over her little sibling. Avery was both patient and helpful in our shoot with her little brother Davis. I think they will always be close and Avery will always be a wonderful and caring big sis.

The Bailey family met for Bill’s 75th birthday celebration.

Some came from California, some from Oregon, but all met at the Portland Rose Garden for a family portrait session. Theirs is a great example of when matching outfits for a portrait session work beautifully.

3 generations of women

Bride-to-be Angela, her mother Patti and grandmother Rose, spent the afternoon with me in my studio. All three had a brightness in their eyes and smiles to warm your heart. What amazing women. I am honored to have taken their portrait. I hope the wedding day is perfect.
