Thanks for visiting my blog. I am Elaine Lowry, professional portrait photographer and owner of Sapphire Studio, located in Portland, Oregon. Sapphire Studio is the business I have dreamed of launching for years and finally had the opportunity to start in 2007. It took a great leap of faith for me … but here we are.
This has been an eventful year for me and for Sapphire Studio. In February of this year, the love of my life Sam and I were married at the Oregon Coast in Yachats. We had a super small wedding with about eight people and we all stayed at the beautiful lighthouse b&b high on the cliffs above the southern coastline. Sapphire Studio has also grown and we now have a really nice studio space, with 12’ ceilings in the basement of our home. Even though I still prefer to shoot outdoors at various locations, the studio has provided a more intimate space for some specific kinds of shoots. Pregnant women and newborn babies seem to really enjoy the studio space, as do high school seniors and kids.
I am happy to have this blog up and running and I look forward to sharing stories, anecdotes, and tips with you.
